L-Menthol (Menthol Crystals) – The Natural Cooling Classic
CAS: 2216-51-5 · FEMA: 2665
The reference standard of mint cooling – intense, aromatic and universally recognized.
Product Overview
L-Menthol is nature’s original cooling agent: colorless hexagonal crystals with a strong, fresh mint aroma and a direct, well-known cooling effect on skin and mucosa. It remains the sensory benchmark against which every WS-series grade is measured, and it is indispensable wherever an authentic mint character is wanted together with the cooling – confectionery, oral care, tobacco and classic beverage applications.
Baisifu supplies USP-grade L-menthol crystallized from natural mentha oil, with tight control of optical purity and congealing point for consistent sensory performance.

Usage & Handling
Dose directly or pre-dissolve in ethanol/PG. Typical food use 60-500 mg/kg depending on matrix and desired mint intensity. Because menthol is volatile and aromatic, many formulators combine a lower menthol level with a WS grade such as WS-3 or WS-5 to keep the mint aroma while extending and strengthening the cooling.
