Cooling Agent WS-12 Maximum Intensity Throa Cooling
Trace how fragrance evolved from pressed botanicals to synthetic molecules and today’s molecular sensory design, where cooling agents shape how products feel.
Cooling Performance Profile
The cooling profile of WS-12 leads with a high-intensity lift across the whole mouth. After that, the sensation travels to the throat and settles there. Finally, it holds a fresh, aromatic coolness for 15 to 30 minutes.
Unlike menthol, WS-12 brings no bitterness, no burning and no tingling. In other words, it delivers a clean, high-impact sensation. Moreover, it supports your existing flavor instead of competing with it.
For example, at 30 to 100 mg/kg in a finished product, the cooling becomes strong and easy to notice. However, WS-12 also carries a melting point of 179 to 183 °C. Therefore, it survives baking, extrusion and hot-fill processes without losing cooling power. Nevertheless, we still suggest a short stability trial for each new formula.
Production & Quality
Our GMP-aligned plant in Xi’an produces Cooling Agent WS-12 from carefully selected raw materials.
We test every incoming batch before production. Approved material then moves into a controlled synthesis line. Meanwhile, our operators keep temperature, pressure and reaction time inside tight limits. After that, we crystallize, dry and mill the product in a clean environment.
Our quality team checks each lot by HPLC and GC. In addition, we release a Certificate of Analysis with every shipment. Because of this, our customers enjoy consistent purity, consistent particle size and consistent cooling strength, lot after lot.

Fragrance has moved through three clear eras. For centuries, scent came only from pressed flowers, resins and distilled botanicals. The late 19th century brought synthetic aroma molecules, freeing perfumers from seasonal harvests and launching modern perfumery. Today the field is entering a third phase: molecular sensory design, where cooling, warming and textural effects are engineered at the molecule level to shape how a product feels — not just how it smells.
Why it matters for formulators
This shift matters because sensory molecules such as cooling agents can be dosed with precision, stay stable through heat and pH swings, and carry no competing off-notes. That makes them practical building blocks for beverages, oral care and personal care, where a clean, lasting effect is the real goal.
Where cooling fits
Baisifu’s WS-series cooling agents sit at the frontier of this evolution. TRPM8-active and flavor-neutral, they deliver consistent coolness that complements a fragrance rather than masking it.
